VISA : Stamp or signature put on a passport by the officials of the Embassy or Consulate concern to show that it has been examined & approved by the officials of a foreign country which the owner of the passport intends to visit or leave.

VISA ON ARRIVAL : It is not issued by the Embassy or Consulate concerned but by the Immigration Department of the country to which the tourist plan to visit. This VOA is arranged prior to the visit by the agents of the tourist, submitting the VOA application form with necessary personal & passport data.

How to get your VOA & enter Yangon International Airport with VOA

Kindly refer to the VOA application form & send all the personal & passport details required. We will then submit your form to the authorities & process your VOA which will come out within 7-15 days after we put up your application.

We will send your VOA to you by scan email jpeg format & also send copies to Myanmar Immigration at Yangon International Airport and also to the Yangon office of the airline that you will be flying into Myanmar. You should bring 3 copies of your official Myanmar VOA with you when you start your journey & to show it if & when necessary.

Secondly you can download the VOA Entry Visa Form & bring 2 filled copies of it together with 3 passport size photos of you & visa entry fees US $ 20 / pax to be given to the Immigration room of the Yangon International Airport which is a 3 meter x 3 meter size room about 20 feet from the entrance of the arrival lounge of the airport. VOA processing fees should be given to our staff who will meet you at the airport arrival lounge with a white board your name written on it & he or she will swift clear you out quickly.

After passing the Immigration you get a two wheel push cart & wait for your luggage at the Custom's belting & as soon as your suitcases come out you can proceed to Custom check point & if you have nothing to declare just sign the " nothing to declare form " & come out but if you have something to declare you can do so by filling the form -- no harm done, no loss & you come out to the exit of the arrival lounge which is 30 feet from the Custom check point. There will be no body searches or frisking. Over & out.

Getting your VOA in Myanmar

Obtaining a Myanmar VOA here is not like in other countries -- a bit hard & time consuming work you can say. Here in Myanmar you can't get instant or on the spot VOA at airports or border crossings. We have to apply before your arrival to the authorities concerned.

We, your agents have to apply the VOA before hand or rather before your arrival to the authorities describing your personal & passport information that you had given us by email.

After we had submitted your application it usually takes 21 - 27 days. Consequently, it is more appropriate to say " we on our part are putting up the VOA application on your behalf before your arrival & getting the VOA for you ". Shall we say " prior application VOA " ?.

We had to pass through several steps & also had to go to several offices to get your VOA by submitting your application & getting the VOA on your arrival ( 7 offices going around 100 miles ).

On your side, you get the required information & visa application forms online & we put up your application before your arrival after getting required data from you. We then process your VOA within 21 - 27 days after submitting your application & send the VOA to you in scan email jpeg format.

Before your arrival we will also send your VOA to the office of the airline that you will be flying into Yangon. Secondly we will send or you can download the VOA Entry Application Form & fill it, bringing two filled copies together with Visa entry fees US $ 20 / pax to the airport Immigration Counter and the fee for visa on arrival processing. You will also need 3 passport size photos of yours to be given to Immigration Counter of the Yangon International Airport.

APPLICATION FORM FOR ENTRY VISA ( VISA ON ARRIVAL )

Kindly read the entry visa on arrival form & please fill it taking the following points into consideration -- 
For 7 ( c ), 8 ( f ), 9, 10, 14 and 15 you should fill " NA ".
For number ( 11 ) it should be " sightseeing ".
For ( 4 ) and ( 12 ) we will give you the address of reference or guarantor when you have agreed to apply for Visa On Arrival ( VOA ) from us.
For ( 13 ) it will be " duration of your tour " or " length of your tour ". Like, for example -- 7 day / 6 night Myanmar tour for instance from 1 - 7 April 2005. This is only an example.
For ( 16 ) you will have to fill " the date that you obtain your VOA issued by the Myanmar authorities " which we will inform you after your VOA is obtained. KINDLY
( A ) FILL THE ENTRY VISA ON ARRIVAL FORM AS ADVISED ABOVE & PLEASE BRING IN THREE COPIES OF THAT FILLED FORM FOR EACH PERSON TOGETHER WITH
( B ) US $ 20 EACH FOR VISA ENTRY FEES +
( C ) THREE PASSPORT SIZE PHOTOS OF EACH OF YOU. THESE A, B & C SHOULD BE BROUGHT TOGETHER WITH YOU ON YOUR ARRIVAL TO YANGON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT.

Here are the steps we have to undertake to process your VOA
1. after getting your necessary personal & passport data we fill the VOA Application Form & submit to the departments concerned ( two way 12 miles )

2. after 21 - 27 days we will get your VOA at the department concerned & collect your VOA ( two way 12 miles )

3. we then deliver your VOA to the Immigration Department HQ in downtown ( two way 8 miles )

4. next we put up the application to the airport security office to enter the Immigration room of the Yangon International Airport & after getting the pass we submit your VOA to check that you are not in the debarred list (two way 24 miles)

5. one week before your arrival we again put up our application to enter the airport arrival lounge to meet you on your arrival showing your VOA ( two way 24 miles )

6. on your arrival date we enter airport arrival lounge to meet & swift clear you out. Over & out ( two way 24 miles )

So we had to put up 4 applications & cover 104 miles ( 12 + 12 + 8 + 24 + 24 + 24 = 104 ) to get your VOA. For our VOA processing fee of US $ 35, don't you think our labours & efforts are worth ?. Bon Voyage ! Happy Journey & See You Soon In Yangon !!!

ENTERING YANGON INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT WITH VISA ON ARRIVAL(VOA)

Following the above points will save you a lot of time & you will come in well prepared.

Once you enter arrival lounge of the Yangon International Airport don't queue with other passengers who already had their passports stamp with Myanmar Visa by the respective Myanmar Embassies.

Go straight to the ( 3 metre x 3 metre size ) Immigration Room which is just 20 ft. from the arrival lounge entrance. There you will meet the Duty Immigration Officer to whom you must give
( 1 ) your passport
( 2 ) your two copies of filled application form for entry visa on arrival form
( 3 ) three passport size photos of each of you
( 4 ) your Approval Letter with stamped from Myanmar Ministry of Hotel & Tourism
( 5 ) US $ 20 new note for each one of you as " visa entry fees "
( 6 ) that will be all and you will be met by one of our company Managers to whisk you out quickly
( 7 ) get a two wheel push cart to carry your luggage & wait at the Custom inspection belting
( 8 ) when your luggage comes out put it on the cart & proceed to Customs Check Point ( about 30 ft. from the belting ) and don't declare if you have nothing to declare, just fill you have nothing to declare and the Customs Officer will be smiling & greeting you saying " Welcome to Myanmar ".
After that
( 9 ) you come out of the exit of the arrival lounge which is about 20 ft. from the Custom Check Point. That's all & you will be met with some of our staff who will drive you to your hotel straight. Over & out.

The cost of entry visa fee to be settled to the Immigration Dept. is $ 20 / pax & in addtion there will be documentation & processing fee (click here to check it) which will not exceed normal international VOA processing fees.

Task Performance of Immigration and National Registration Department ( In charge of Myanmar Visa )

Since the change in the State economic Policy to a market-oriented economic system, private enterprises foreign companies, as well as joint-ventures have flourished alongside the State sector. Trade relations Myanmar and development policy of the government, foreign investors, skilled worker workers and tourists have entered Myanmar with ( Myanmar Visa ) entry visas. Moreover, Exit and Departure forms are also issued to any Myanmar citizen who wishes to work abroad. However, issuing of stay permit and ( Myanmar Visa ) re-entry visa are being carried out for foreigners.

In accordance with current State rules and regulations of Myanmar, Embassies and Consulates General office of the abroad have been given the authority to issue ( Myanmar Visa ) Entry Visas at their decision. Types of ( Myanmar Visa ) Entry Visa to Myanmar are as follows.

(1) ( Myanmar Visa ) Entry Visa

( Myanmar Visa ) Entry Visa is issued only to foreigners who come for employment, business and social matters. The ( Myanmar Visa ) visa fee is US $ 36 and allows a one-month stay.

(2)( Myanmar Visa ) Diplomatic Visa

( Myanmar Visa ) Diplomatic Visa is issued only to diplomatic official and their families. any person holding this ( Myanmar Visa ) visa is allowed to stay in Myanmar during his period of assignment. This ( Myanmar Visa ) visa is offered Gratis.

(3)( Myanmar Visa ) Gratis Official Courtesy Visa

This ( Myanmar Visa ) visa is issued only to diplomatic staff and their families. Any person holding this type of visa is allowed to stay in Myanmar during his period of assignment. This ( Myanmar Visa ) visa is offered Gratis.

(4) ( Myanmar Visa ) Tourist Visa

This ( Myanmar Visa ) visa issued to tourists only. Any person holding this ( Myanmar Visa ) visa is allowed to stay for 4 weeks/28 days. The ( Myanmar Visa ) visa fee is US$ 20.

(5) ( Myanmar Visa ) Business Visa

This ( Myanmar Visa ) visa issued for trading and business operations. Any person holding this visa is allowed to stay for 11 weeks. This ( Myanmar Visa ) visa fee is US $ 36.

(6)( Myanmar Visa ) Transit Visa

This ( Myanmar Visa ) Visa is issued to those who are heading for their destination via Myanmar in that case legal passport, country endorsement, and visa are required. Any person holding this ( Myanmar Visa ) visa can make a temporary stop in Myanmar for 24 hours. The ( Myanmar Visa ) visa fee is US $18.

(7) Stay Permit

A foreigner can stay up to the limited stay period. Any person wishing to extend his stay may do so, by applying for and obtaining permission. He is allowed to stay from 1 day to 3 months by paying a fee for US $36, and from 3 months to 1 year for US$ 90. As for over stay, a foreigner will be fined 3 $ per day for the period of 90 days and 5 $ per day for over 90 days period.

(8) ( Myanmar Visa ) Re-entry Visa

If a foreigner is obliged to leave for foreign country on official or personal business during the permitted duration, he may do so by submitting an application, in which case he will be issued a ( Myanmar Visa ) Re- entry visa. The ( Myanmar Visa ) Re-entry visas are two types, namely, the Single Journey ( Myanmar Visa ) Re-entry visa and Multiple Journey ( Myanmar Visa ) Re- entry visa. The Multiple Journey ( Myanmar Visa ) Re-entry visa is issued to businessmen and diplomatic staff who have obtained a recommendation from the ministry/ department concerned. The Single Journey ( Myanmar Visa ) Re-entry visa fee is US 54,and the Multiple Journey ( Myanmar Visa ) Re- entry visa, fee is US 180.

(9) ( Myanmar Visa ) Visa on Arrival

( Myanmar Visa ) Visa on Arrival is issued at the Myanmar International Airport and Seaport, to those residing abroad where there are no Myanmar embassies, or to those who have had no time to obtain an ( Myanmar Visa ) Entry Visa at the Myanmar embassies. ( Myanmar Visa ) Visa fees are collected according to the prescribed rate.
